About Kurt Boone Books
Through my essays and photography, I am actively involved in recording all aspects of street cultures. I've written over 20 books, some of which are included in the following:
- New-York Historical Society Library
- Metropolitan Museum of Art Library
- Museum of Modern Art Library
- Cornell University Hip Hop Collection
- Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture
- Stanford University Library
More recently, I have completed an oral history project on the mass incarceration system in the United States for Columbia University Oral History Archive and was the subject of Speed Walking NYC, a short documentary film about my former job as a courier in New York City, NY.
My photographic work documenting the COVID-19 pandemic and Black Lives Matter protests in New York City in 2020 has been exhibited at the International Center of Photography and the Museum Of The City Of New York. I also published a photo catalog of protest street art titled “Fresh Plywood NYC: Artists Rise Up In The Age Of Black Lives Matter.”
For over 14 years, I've worked as a marketing consultant. The holding entity for all of my consulting assignments is Boone Marketing Company. In addition to broad marketing that can be used in a variety of businesses, I specialize in book publishing and short and feature film sales. Among my current and previous clients are:
- Just Us Books
- QPR

- Confetti Entertainment Company
- Big Apple Enterprises, Inc.
- HK Farm
- Bob Gore Productions
